Mine Notre-Dame de Forux, Lusse, St Dié, Vosges, Lorraine, France
Ancient copper and silver mine, started in the early 16th century and worked intermittently until 1609. An attempt to re-work the mine in 1845 remained unsuccessful.
The vein worked at Lusse trends from NW to SE. It consists of quartz and dolomite and is hosted by anatectic gneisses of the Urbeis series. The most abundant ore was sphalerite, which was thrown onto the dumps because the metallurgy of zinc was unknown when the mine was active.
Located near Lusse, about 15 km east of Saint Dié.
