Picos de Europa Mts, Cantabria, Spain

Picos de Europa is a range of mountains that is part of the Cantabrian Mountains. In their relativelly small area (20 km N-S and 35 km E-W) are included parts of the Autonomous Communities of Asturias, Cantabria and Castile and León.
Many mines are located in the Picos de Europa, in the townships of Cangas de Onís, Cabrales, (Asturias), Cillorigo de Liébana, Peñarrubia, Camaleño (Cantabria), Oseja de Sajambre (León) and others.

NB: The famous transparent sphalerites from the Las Manforas mine (Aliva mine) are often labelled "Picos de Europa". Please put sphalerite photos on the "Las Manforas" page and not here under "Picos de Europa".
