Ref.: The Minerals of New York City & Its Environs, New York Mineralogical Club Bull. Vol. 3, No. 1, Manchester, J.G. (1931): 31 & 82. A serpentine deposit covering about 10 acres (4 hectares) on the easterly slope of Turkey Hill. Host rock is limestone. The serpentine occurs between the limestone and the Losee gneiss & is distributed through the limestone in veins and pockets in masses up to 1 foot (.3 meters) in diameter.
