Latitude: 33°24'47"N
Longitude: 110°45'24"W
A former surface and underground Pb-Ag mine located on 4 unpatented claims in the center E½E½ sec. 22, T1N, R15E, about ¾ mile SE of the Copper Hill ghost town site and about 0.9 miles S of Buckskin Mountain, 1½ miles ENE of Globe, on BLM-administered land. Closed 1939. Owned by Charles Ireland and Zella Storm (1943). Operated by Mr. Charles Ireland (1939).
Mineralization is lenses-shaped and shoots of ore hosted in the Troy Quartzite and Mescal Limestone. The ore zone is 30.48 meters long and 1.52 meters wide and is confined to a fracture in quartzite. Ore control was ENE-trending fault fissure in quartzite. An associated rock unit is diabase.
Area structures include NE-trending faults which form contacts with Precambrian diabase ¼ mile NW in the Globe Dominion area. ADMR file mentions monzonite in the area which is possibly Early Tertiary. Mineralization is associated with Early Tertiary intrusions, and Early Tertiary Schultze Granite is exposed 1 mile W at the Old Dominion Mine.
Assay data: Samples from drift and mine head average 15% Pb.
Workings include a vertical shaft with drifting at 70 foot level and stoping at 40 foor level; also open cuts. Production was an estimated 100 tons of 15% Pb ore was shipped from this mine prior to 1939, when 17.7 tons of 35% sorted Pb ore was shipped.
