Bald hill osmiridium field, Heazlewood district, Tasmania, Australia

A site where locally abundant "osmiridium" was mined in the early 1900's, mostly from shallow alluvial and eluvial deposits associated with serpentinites. It is now very scarce and the source rocks are poorly tested.
