The Rosselhalde nature reserve is located in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate.

On the B422 road and 1.5 km south-east of Katzenloch village, in the of direction of Idar-Oberstein. You will find the dump on your left-hand side, immediately at the road branching to Kirschweiler. Access is forbidden, since it's a nature reserve.

The 51.4 hectare area, which was placed under nature conservation by ordinance of September 12, 1939, extends northwest of the local community of Kirschweiler on the southwest slope of the Idarbach in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park.

The nature reserve is characterized by heaps of rubble made of Taunus quartzite.
