Gold prospect, Waldhambach, Bad Bergzabern, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

(Goldschurf, Waldhambach, Bad Bergzabern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Deutschland)

An adit in arkose sandstones contacting a permian melaphyr, reputedly worked for gold during the Second World War. This site forms now entirely part of the neighbouring quarry. There is no trace of the adit left, but the contact zone of the arkoses with the melaphyr can still be spotted in the western part of the quarry.
