Wenduermiao Mine, Harhada deposit, Erenhot (Erlianhaote) Co., Xilin Gol (Xilinguole) League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China

Medium-scale volcanogenic-sedimentary iron deposit, consisting of several stratiform deposits of banded magnetite-hematite quartzite and hematite-jasper silexite. Iron oxide minerals are very fine-grained. The host rocks (Sm-Nb isotopic ages of 850 to 1500 Ma) are metamorphosed mafic lava, spilite tuff and argillite that are strongly folded. They form part of an ophiolite suite composed of chert, pillow lava and ultramafic rocks. They are metamorphosed into quartzite, sericite schist, Fe minerals, greenschist and glaucophane schist.
