Ivato valley, Ambositra District, Amoron'i Mania Region, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar

A locality for andalusite. Lacroix (1956) mentions that kaolinized andalusite was found here by Y. Briere in a graphite-mica schist. It was found north of the confluent of the Ivato river with the Mania river in the central highland of Madagascar
