One of several phosphorite deposits that occur in a belt of lower proterozoic metamorphic rocks, from Dawu in Hubei Province, eastwards through Susong in Anhui Province, to Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province. They fault contact upper proterozoic blueschists and unconformably overlay Archaean gneiss-migmatites.
