Ref.: NY State Museum Bull. Nos. 249-250, Magnetic Iron Deposits of SE NY, Clarke, John M. (Sep-Oct 1921): 47, 118. An iron ore in magnetite ore located about 2½ miles SW of Brewster. Connects underground with the Theall Mine, and collectively, with it, was subsequently referred to as the Croton Magnetic Iron-ore Mines. Started about 1880. Workings were a large open cut and a 60 foot deep shaft.
