Survey of the State of NY, Geology of Orange Co., Roes, Heinrich (1895): 422-423.An iron mine in magnetite ore located on top of Bull Hill, about 5 miles SSW of Blooming Grove and 1½ miles NE of the former Oxford Depot & about 3 miles North of Monroe. Closed in 1880. Owned by the Parrott Iron Co. Ore was hosted in hornblende gneiss. Working featured a vertical shaft & the working went to 1,000 feet deep.
