A 400m long and 2 m thick folded layer rich in euhedral sapphirine crystals in a lens with various garnet bearing folded migmatites ( cordierite-spinel-and garnet-cordierite-hypersthene granofelses). The rock is medium-grained except the sapphirine (about 20 % of the rock) which occurs in about 2 cm long lath-shaped crystals.
The locality is now closed for collecting, protected as area of particular geological interest.
