Pine Swamp Mine, Town of Tuxedo, Orange Co., New York, USA
An iron mine in magnetite ore located 5 miles North of the old Greenwood Furnace (no longer on maps) and southeast of Arden in Tuxedo. One of the Greenwood group of mines. Host rock is hornblende gneiss. NOTE: Heinrich Ries (Geol. of orange Co.) makes one reference to the "Spruce Swamp" mine, which may be a mis-nomer for this mine.
