Ulsteinvik, Ulstein, Møre og Romsdal, Norge

Sørøyane Islands (west of Hareidlandet) show numerous outcrops of UHP eclogites, in a zone located aroud Ulsteinvik.

Kyanite eclogites from Ulsteinvik underwent retrogression to granulitic and amphibolitic assemblages during exhumation.
Hydrated zones show a replacement of eclogites by symplectites and plagioclase-bearing assemblages.
Echelon microfractures show complex assemblages with sapphirine, corundum, diopside and plagioclase.
