The largest chromium mine in Troodos ophiolite, located about 2 km north of Mount Olympus and started 1927 or 1931.
As of about 1977, a total of > 500.000 tons of ore were mined.
As of 1985, about a total of 600.000 tons of ore were mined, reserves were 200.000 tons.
