Eidsvoll Gullverk (Eidsvold Gullverk), Eidsvoll kommune, Akershus fylke, Norge
Gold was first found in 1758 by Ole Viborg, and short time after in the same year prospecting started. (Norway was at the time under the Danish King). "Gamle-gruben" was the first mine in operation.
There are six old mines: Gamle-gruben ("the Old mine"), Brustad-gruben, Sanner-gruben, Græsli-gruben, Boshaugdalen-skjerp (prospect) and Utsjø-gruben.
Gold occurs with pyrite in quartz veins of late proterozoic age.
