Banded iron formation (BIF), hosted in the Sandaogou Formation of the Archean Anshan Group. The first and second members of the upper subformation of the Sandaogou Formation are the main deposit horizon. Totally 12 sectors, and 203 orebodies have been recognized. The orebodies are stratiform, lenticular and lensoid concordant to host rock. The deposit mineral structures are mainly gneissic, massive and banded. Locally, schistose and disseminated structures occur. The mineral assemblages are: (1) magnetite-quartzite, (2) magnetite-hornblende, (3) magnetite-carbonate, (4) magnetite-garnet, and (5) magnetite-chlorite.
