Quartz vein and fractured altered rock type gold deposit, related to a granitoid intrusion. The ore bodies are hosted in a syncline, the core of which is composed of shale of the Bilute Formation and the limbs of siliceous crystalline limestone of the Halahuote Formation. Both formations belong to the Proterozoic Bayan Obo Group. The core is intruded by an ellipsoid Hercynian granite. Quartz and sulphide veins are related to a series of NW-trending fracture zones. The deposit minerals occur in stockworks and masses.
