Xiangshan (Xianshan) Cu-Ni-V-Ti deposit, Huangshan-Jing'erquan ore belt, Hami (Kumul; Qumul) Co., Hami (Kumul; Qumul) Prefecture, Xinjiang (Xinjiang-Uygur) Autonomous Region, China

The Xiangshan intrusion, which is interpreted as representing a magmatic conduit, consists of a hornblende gabbro envelope around lenses of ultramafic rocks, including peridotite, harzburgite, pyroxenite and diorite. The Cu-Ni sulphide ore bodies are mainly hosted by the former. In plan view, the intrusion resembles a lotus root, the individual parts of which have been termed Xiangshandong (Xiangshan East), Xiangshanzhong (the middle part), and Xiangshanxi (Xiangshan West) intrusions by local geologists. The latter also hosts V-Ti ore bodies that are well separated from the Cu-Ni ore bodies with which they co-exist.
