The Tuolluvaara hill is situated 4 km east of the Kiruna center. The deposit was found in 1897 by the "father" of Kiruna (and the mining company: LKAB) Hjalmar Lundbohm, with the help of the inclination compass.
Two of the major ore-bodies were named "Chulalongkorn" and "Siam" with reference to the visit of the King to Sweden in 1897. The other orebodies are: Finis-, Bråk-, Ararat-, Kurt-, Emil-, Parallell-, Östra Siam and Västra Siam (East and West Siam).
Iron mine active 1902-1984.
