Jinchiling Mine, Zhaoyuan Co., Yantai Prefecture, Jiaodong Peninsula (Jiaodong Gold Province), Shandong Province, China

Latitude: 37°25'N
Longitude: 120°22'E
Quartz vein-type gold deposit, hosted by Linglong granite along the Zhaoping fault zone. Mineralization is located on the western footwall side of the fault zone and controlled by NE- and NNE-trending structures, which are parallel in strike to the fault but dip in the opposite direction. Gold mineralization occurs as disseminations within the granite or within veins inside the sheared alteration zone. More than twenty veins have been identified and each of these can split into more than one orebody. The orebodies are relatively small in size, generally less than 100 m in strike and dip extent, but the gold grade is commonly quite high. The veins strike NE to NNE and dip to the NW at a relatively high angle, generally between 65-85°. The mine is separated into two sub-districts, the Jinchiling sub-district to the southeast and the Yuantuan sub-district to the northwest.
