Clapper Farm copper-gold occurrence, East Berlin, Adams Co., Pennsylvania, USA
Mesozoic copper and gold mineralization in a hornfels xenolith in the Rossville diabase, located 35 meters west of Fish and Game Road, about 800 meters north of its intersection with Bakers Watering Trough Road. An analysis showed 8% Cu, over 200 grams/ton Ag, 30 g/t Bi, 8 g/t Au, making it the richest gold deposit of this type in Pennsylvania. No measureable Co, Ni, As, Mo. Because of the very small size of the deposit, probably corresponding to the 7 meter diameter vegetation anomaly, the total amount of copper present is likely only between 10 to 100 kilograms which, of course, is not worth mining.
