An uranium deposit hosted in fractured, silica-rich volcanic rocks, located in hydrologically unsaturated, oxidizing, and semiarid climatic conditions. Uraninite has been almost completely oxidized to a suite of relatively stable uranyl minerals. Because of its analogy with the US high-level nuclear waste repository site of Yucca Mountain (host rock and "fuel"), this deposit has been studied extensively as a natural analog (Murphy, 2006).
