Mineralisation occurs in metamorphosed garnet culm measures intermingles with actinolite and axinite.
The lode carries chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite and pyrite.
There is abundant manganese oxide.
Secondary copper minerals include melaconite and chalcocite.
Output was 2934 tons of copper ore between 1867 and 1891.
The mine was prospected again in 1905-14 when 5 shafts were sunk on an extension of the main lode.
