At Baxters Diggings andalusite pods represented 25-30% by volume of schists, with pods up to 100 kilograms weight recorded. They could be traced over a strike length of 700 m, and were worked in small pits, with an estimated 50 tonnes removed.
SARIG considers this to only be a prospect/digging, not a mine.
Not to be confused with the nearby Maggie Feldspar Mine.
