Biyang basin, Tongbai Co., Nanyang Prefecture, Henan Province, China

Small Tertiary half-graben basin, located within the Biyang depression and controlled by the N-W and N-E striking Tanghe-Liyuan and Liyuan-Biyang faults, respectively. In the Anpeng district in its center, a suite of thick dolomitic units interbedded with trona layers totalling more than 1500 meters was deposited by a perennial alkalescence saline depositional system (Hetaoyuan Formation).
