Lujiang Co., Chaohu Prefecture, Anhui Province, China

庐江县, 巢湖市, 安徽省, 中国

This county includes the eastern part of the Late Mesozoic Luzong (Luzhong) subaerial volcanic basin (named for the Anhui counties of Lujiang and Zongyang) and its surrroundings. In the basin, Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous alkali-rich volcanic rocks (including trachybasalt, trachyandesite, andesitic trachyte, and trachyte) directly overlay Early to Middle Jurassic clastic sedimentary rocks. Yanshanian intrusions occur as small stocks and dykes, and are composed mainly of diorite, monzonite, monzogranite, syenite and granite.

The basin also contains some uranium deposits and forms the southeastern part of the Qilian-Qinling uranium province.
