An unamed "quarry 1 km from Ihosy" (Nicollet 1990). This refers probably to the quarry along the RN 7 about 1 km North of the town Ihosy. This quarry has earlier been referred to as "the cordierite locality" ("Le gisement de cordiƩrite"). A sillimanite- and cordierite-bearing gneissic rock in the Ihosy formation is quarried here for rocks to pavement and house constructions.
