Emeralds are found associated with a series of pegmatite dikes concordantly emplaced along schistosity planes within ultramafic rocks. The host schists formed through K metasomatism during intrusion of the pegmatite. Beryls occur in the pegmatite, but are more abundant in the micaschist.
