An underground copper mine consisting of one shaft located near Mandan. The Medora Mining Company was organized in 1848 east of Mandan. Not much else is known of the mine other than it operated until about 1866 when it closed due to monetary issues. The mine is easily accessible and many minerals can be found on the pile, including copper, silver, pumpellyite, and prehnite.
