Copper is said to have been extracted at Bincombe between 1690 and 1724. Other licences were granted in 1755 and 1758 to mine on Friarn manor in Bincombe, and a mine there, possibly on Dodington manor lands, was operating near Walford's Gibbet [ST172394] by 1790.
The NGR given here is for Binscombe itself, rather than being a specific mineral location.
