Wenduermiao Fe deposit, Erenhot Co. (Erlianhaote Co.), Xilin Gol League (Xilinguole Prefecture), Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China
温都尔庙铁矿, 二连浩特市, 锡林郭勒盟, 内蒙古自治区, 中国Medium-scale volcanogenic-sedimentary iron deposit, consisting of several stratiform bodies of banded magnetite-hematite quartzite and hematite-jasper silexite. Iron oxide minerals are very fine-grained. The host rocks (Sm-Nb isotopic ages of 850 to 1500 Ma) are metamorphosed mafic lava, spilite tuff and argillite that are strongly folded. They form part of an ophiolite suite composed of chert, pillow lava and ultramafic rocks. They are metamorphosed into quartzite, sericite schist, Fe minerals, greenschist and glaucophane schist.
Located along the railway line leading from Jining to Erenhot.
