Smith (1977), relying on earlier reports, noted one 118' shaft, three other shallow shafts, and an adit. In addition to the main vein, the adit cut four small, parallel veins, each 3 to 16" thick. The deposit apparently consisted of high angle, sphalerite-rich veins of Mesozoic age cutting Precambrian gneiss.
