Discovered in 1875, mined from 1993 to 2002 by Straits Resources (heap leaching). Girilambone is located approximately 46 kilometres north-north-west of the town of Nyngan in central New South Wales.

Coordinates: 487300mE, 6541500mN.
Stratiform, disseminated.
There are 3 satellite deposits, 3 km north of the main pit: Larsens East, Hartmans and Northeast.
