A large crushed stone quarry in basalt (traprock), located in the Holyoke Range, part of the Metacomet Ridge, which extends from near the Vermont border to near New Haven, Connecticut. Part of the quarry, including the entrance, is in the town of Amherst, while the remainder is in in the town of
Granby. Quarrying began on the now obliterated Round Mountain in 1897.
