A gold-copper mine started 1984 and scheduled to close in 2013. Notorious for environmental damage.
Located near the W. Irian frontier.

Copper-gold porphyry deposit.

Owned by a joint venture of BHP, Amoco & 3 German companies. 410 million tons of ore reserves, including 34 million tons of gold ore @ 2.86 grams/ton (1984).
