Ancient iron mine, started during World War II and developed to a depth of 400 m. The deposit consists of two phyllite- and micaschist-hosted orebodies, 500 m long and up to 50 m wide, trending north-east and dipping south-west at 25°. The northern orebody mainly consists of pyrite ("P-Lager", P deposit), the southern mainly of pyrrhotite ("M-Lager", M deposit). Production peaked around 1960, with an annual output of around 100,000 tons of iron ore. In 1971, the mine was abandoned.

Located 1.5 km SSE of Pfaffenreuth and about 5.5 km SSE of Waldsassen.
