Slag locality, Hüsten, Arnsberg, Sauerland, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

(Schlackenhalde "an der Seilbahn", Hüsten, Arnsberg, Sauerland, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland)

Slag dump of the "Hüstener Gewerkschaft", a steel, cast iron and sheet metal manufacturing company founded in 1837, processing raw materials delivered by smelters near Müschede, Linnepe and Endorf. Most of the plants were abandoned in 1926, except for a rolling mill operated until 1966. The numerous large slag dumps were largely removed after the first world war. Only one small dump still remains north of Hüsten.
