Beloves, Náchod (Nachod), Hradec Králové Region, Bohemia (Böhmen; Boehmen), Czech Republic

(Jiráskův lom, Běloves)

Surrounding of Běloves belongs to Orlické hory (Mts.) crystalline complex of monotonous chlorite-sericite and graphite-sericite phyllites of proterozoic age. In the centre of that unit is dome structure with caledonian granitic massif, called "novohrádecký masív". Copper mineralisation is connected with coincident lode of granitic porphyry intersecting phyllites. Average copper content is only about 0,02 %. Secondary enriched zone with cuprite is present in the upper part of tectonic zones. Later it was altered by oxidation processes and rich association of secondary copper minerals was developed.
