Mill's Spring, Polk Co., North Carolina, USA

Euclase was reported here in 1881, but the identification seems to have been retracted later: Genth, F.A. and Kerr, W.C. (1881) Minerals and Mineral Localities of North Carolina.
Kunz, G. (1885) Precious Stones, USBM, p. 741: "Only one mention is made of euclase in the United States. In this case several crystals were reported as found at the residence of Mr. Morrill, Mill's Spring, Polk County, North Carolina, by Gen. T. L. Clingman, in washing the gold sand at this locality, and Dr. F. A. Genth says this mineral was not euclase."
(Thanks to Dr. Vandall King for noticing this historical discrepancy.)
