Non-gemmy emerald deposit hosted in pyritic shales, siltstones and sandstones of the Neoproterozoic Twitya Formation, located at 1,370 metres elevation, 3 km south of Mountain River, 10 km SW of Shale/Palmer Lake, 150 km from Norman Wells, 500 km from Whitehorse (Yukon).
