Descubridora Mine, Carrizo district, Huasco Province, Atacama Region, Chile

(Descubridora de Carrizo)

Old abandoned Ag-Pb mine, already known to I. Domeyko in ca. 1870. The mineralization occurs in diorites, diabase, igneous and limestones rocks. Several veins were worked in relatively deep shafts.
