A former small surface and underground W mine located in sec. 19, T17S, R7E, about 1 mile N of San Juan Spring. Discovered 1954 by Mr. Dewitt T. Rushbey and E.L. Hicklin. Produced 1955.
Mineralization is a scheelite-bearing band of hydrothermally altered material that strikes N20W and dips 30W. The ore zone is 0.46 meters wide. Principal shears locally strike N30E and dip 70SE. Because of overburden the ore zone could not be traced beyond the limits of the open cut. The ore band is underlain by massive quartzite and overlain by sheared and shattered quartzite.
Material from sample cuts across the main band assayed 0.78% WO3.
Workings are an open cut. From the face of the open cut, an opening 12 feet wide extends 10 feet into the hillside.
