A Cu occurrence/prospect with underground workings located in sec. 15, T12S, R8E.
Mineralization is ore that strikes N60E and dips steeply S, hosted in clastic sedimentary rock. Ore control was faults & veins. Alteration includes propylitic vein chalcopyrite, chalcocite; B-potassic. An associated rock unit is quartz latite.
This deposit is possibly near and on the contact of K-sediments with a rhyolite (?) dike. A selvage of chlorite along the vein suggests hydrothermal biotite. Chalcopyrite & chalcocite in 1 - 2 foot veinworks cutting Cretaceous rocks in the prospect. Copper stains (probably exotic) are in the shaft along a fault cutting the dike. The dike is probably post-mineralization. No good limonite stains or boxwork indicated in it. Alteration may be potassic but probably propylitic and light.
Workings include 1 prospect and 1 shaft.
