A former Sb occurrence/mine located in the SE¼SE¼SW¼ sec. 5, T12S, R7E, MDM, 0.1 km (0.1 mile) SSW of Laveaga Peak (coordinates of record) and 1.9 km (6,400 feet) SSE of Antimony Peak (coordinates of record), just S of Lone Tree Road (a dead end), which is about 10 miles NE of Hollister, on private land (fee ownership). Discovered in 1870. Started in the mid-1940's and closed before 1956. Owned by R.B. Knox and now a part of the Knox estate c/o Bank of America (100%). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

NOTE: The Mineralogical Record reference states that this mine is located in San Benito County; however, the Yale Peabody/USGS GNIS database places it in nearby San Luis Obispo County. Mindat user Mr. Thomas Barry, a local resident, confirms that it is located in San Benito County.

The ore body strikes N15W and dips 45W at a thickness of 3.3 meters and a depth-to-top of 18 meters, width of 36 meters, and a length of 244 meters. Ore body No. 1 is tabular in a shear zone. Ore body No. 2 is irregular and ore body No. 3 is a replacement body. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. Primary ore control was faulting and the secondary control was fractures. Wallrock alteration is moderate (silicification; advanced argillic). Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 1 (Quien Sabe-Burdell Mountain).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 488 meters and an overall depth of 130 meters and comprised of 530 meters of drifts and crosscuts.

Reserve-resource data are found in: Bailey, E. H. and Myers, W. B. (1949) & Bailey, Edgar H. & W. Bradley Myers (1942).

Reserves and resources data: Type: in-situ; estimate year: 1983: inferred reserves: 181,000 metric tons of ore; total resources: 907,000 metric tons of ore. Sb at 3 weight percent.
