A shaft of Carharrack Mine that was opened as a trial in 1935. Most of the work done was in old mine workings to a depth of 200 feet. No lode occurs in this section, but the decomposed killas are traversed by thin streaks of dark tourmaline peach which include cassiterite. The values however were rather patchy and works ceased in 1939. Until that time, up to 2 tons of black tin concentrates had been produced per month.
