Burke and Lange prospect, Twelvemile Arm, Kasaan Bay, Prince of Wales Island, Ketchikan District, Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan Borough, Alaska, USA

Latitude: 55°29'20"N
Longitude: 132°38'49"W
Location: The Burke and Lange prospect is about 0.4 mile north of Hollis and about 0.5 mile NNE of the center of section 4, T74S, R84E. However, there is no report of anyone seeing it since Chapin (1918), and the location may not be accurate.

Geology: At this prospect, Chapin (1918) reports a quartz vein about 20 feet wide that strikes N70W, parallel to the layering in greenstone tuff of Silurian or Ordovician age (Herreid and Rose, 1966). The only work was surface stripping.

Workings: Only surface stripping in about 1916.

Age: Unknown, other than that the prospect is in Silurian or Ordovician rocks.
