Location: Chickamin Gulch is a short, south tributary to Dome Creek (SO113). It is 0.5 miles downstream from the upper end of Dome Creek at the confluence of Eldorado and Telegram Creeks. This is locality 38 of Cobb (1972, MF 445; 1978, OF 78-181).
Geology: A bench deposit along lower Chickamin Gulch contains fine, bright gold in sand (with some pebbles) that overlies solution-pitted marble (Smith, 1909). The sand is overlain by angular debris, possibly colluvium. Bedrock in the area is part of a lower Paleozic metasedimentary assemblage (Till and others, 1986).
Workings: Surface prospecting has occurred here but no mining is reported.
Age: Quaternary.
