Unnamed Mine (ARDF - GO009; tributary to upper Trail Creek), Bristol Bay Region District, Dillingham Borough, Alaska, USA

Location: Trail Creek is a large west tributary of the Izavieknik River which flows between Upper Togiak Lake and Togiak Lake. This placer mine is in an unnamed north tributary to upper Trail Creek. The map site is at an elevation of about 2,200 feet on this tributary, in the SE1/4 of section 20, T 2 S, R 60 W, of the Seward Meridian. It is locality 21 of Hoare and Cobb (1977) and of Cobb and Condon (1972).
Geology: Hoare and Coonrad (1961) show this to be a placer mining locality. No additional information is available for this deposit. This part of Trail Creek is a glaciated drainage underlain by Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous sedimentary and volcanic rocks (Hoare and Coonrad, 1978).
Workings: Some small surface workings are assumed to be present.
Age: Holocene.
